To keep coffee and bar items hidden, but easily accessible, we designed a tall cabinet featuring a glass roll-out tray for the coffee maker. Pocket doors on either side don’t block traffic while the cabinet is open. Three easily adjustable roll-out shelves below the coffee maker store coffee, mugs, vases, and pitchers. Liquor bottles and mixing accessories are kept on a high shelf out of reach from little hands.
Pulling color inspiration from the art and furnishings creates a cohesive open kitchen design.
Not ones for clutter, this couple wanted an easily accessible, but hidden space to store their espresso maker. A flat glass roll-out shelf with roll-out drawers below does the trick.
Narrow pull-outs for spices and oils keep them close to the cooking and prep space.
Cosmetic Fireplace Update
To get a more transitional look in the kitchen and living room, the traditional fireplace mantel and surround was replaced with a three-dimensional, split-faced marble tile and reclaimed beam mantle. Carrying the tile from the hearth to the crown molding gives the fireplace more of a presence and helps to balance the scale of the oversized wall sconces on each side.
