Art Deco-Inspired Bathroom Remodel

Art Deco-Inspired Bathroom Remodel

A tripping hazard may have been the catalyst for this bathroom remodel, but the pictures alone show that the client walked away with so much more than a level floor plan. Before, there was a step down from the bedroom to the primary bathroom. Uneven floors are never ideal, but especially between a bedroom and bathroom. Who wants to have to remember to be careful when they get up in the middle of the night?

Beyond the precarious step down, this bathroom also housed a lot of wasted space. We needed to help this client make better use of the area and add a water closet.

We got to work, designing a plan around an existing glass block window near the vanities. We leaned into a modern Art Deco aesthetic to seamlessly tie in the texture of the glass block. We repeated dark borders throughout the tile rug, vanity hardware, mirrors, shower floor, as well as some of the window trim and tile trim work. We kept the rest of the colors light and bright, with just enough warmth in the paint colors and finishes (check out those light mocha cabinets) to keep this space as inviting as it is luxurious. We couldn’t have had more fun working with this client and embracing this chic style!

Making the Space Count

This bathroom had space in spades but needed a big facelift to reach its true potential. Luckily, the homeowners recognized they had a hidden gem in the glass accent wall and were onboard for a modern update that would put this feature center stage.

We left no corner untouched, pulling out all the stops to give these clients the primary bathroom of their Art Deco dreams. We demoed their outdated tub and crafted a luxury walk-in shower with dual shower heads, elevated and expanded their storage space with beautiful new vanities, and turned their flooring into a work of art. We’re thrilled that the homeowners now have a bathroom that doubles as a serene retreat.
