Both avid gardeners, this Huntersville couple enlisted our help to design and construct a sunroom addition to the back of their home where they could enjoy views of their garden year-round. As a second access point to the garden from the house, a place for houseplants to flourish in winter months, and an indoor gardening room, the new sunroom addition serves multiple functions.
We pulled inspiration from a treasured family heirloom, “Papa's Bench”. Built in the 1930’s and passed down through generations of family, the bench now rests proudly in the new sunroom addition where it serves as an indoor potting station. It was important to this couple that the space remained flexible and casual, so it could be utilized in various ways throughout the changing seasons. Filled with lush houseplants during the winter months, the new four-season room feels like a warm, semi-tropical paradise.
