Traditional, Paris-Inspired Bathroom Remodel

Our clients built this home in the 1990s and had a list of objectives for moving it into the future with them, including a curbless shower with grab bars for aging in place, more natural light, a more spacious atmosphere, and a “wow” factor. As both world travelers and art collectors, our clients wanted this bathroom to feel like a calm refuge that simplified their lives.

The opportunity created by opening up the walls within this bathroom and adjusting the placement of the vanities, allowed us to create individual areas of interest within the space. The gallery-like atmosphere allows each feature to act almost like a sculptural piece of art and to be appreciated in an uncomplicated way.

Mid-Century Inspired Style

As self-described Francophiles, it was only natural that our clients’ traditional master bathroom take on a glamorous edge. We chose large marble-like porcelain tile to give the space an elegant and easily maintainable base from which to select the remaining materials and finishes. The herringbone tile floor unifies the various angles of the walls throughout the space. To add a touch of warmth, the linen cabinet features quarter sawn white oak with a wire brushed finish.

Ultimately this traditional bathroom design includes areas of visual and textural interest to give our clients the Paris-inspired bathroom they longed for.
