Once in a Blue Kitchen in SouthPark
The client envisioned a bold, spectacular kitchen that would serve as the heart of their home. They wanted to eliminate the outdated arched openings and bring in modern design elements, including a double island—one dedicated to entertaining and the other for meal prep. Because they frequently use their screened-in patio, it was important that the design emphasized this connection to the outdoors.
To enhance the flow between indoor and outdoor spaces, we replaced the original windows and doors with a sleek sliding glass door and modern black colonial-style windows. The client also requested a sense of surprise and delight through hidden features, such as a concealed pantry and cleverly integrated cabinetry that blends seamlessly into the design. While they were clear in their preference to avoid gold finishes, we selected brushed nickel accents to coordinate with the existing materials throughout the rest of their home.
